On Staff

Annie Clouse
Operations Lead

As Operations Lead at Swell, Annie Clouse is like the glue that holds everything together: from onboarding clients and billing, to credentialing therapists and surprise side quests like designing merch or auditing insurance claims. Her mornings kick off with emails and client signups, then it's into billing and other must-dos. After a midday walk to recharge (her go-to productivity hack), Annie dives into bigger projects—like leveling up our social media presence.

Dalton Powell
Lead Engineer

D$ joined Swell’s engineering team with a fresh perspective, an impeccable sense of humor, and a hunger to learn. He has had the opportunity to focus not only on technical architecture, but also product design when it comes to our new AI platform. Dalton is passionate about seeing the tech progress unfold in real time and knowing it’s part of something bigger: helping people improve their mental health in an accessible way.

Ben Alegre
Head of Growth

Ben began his career in higher education, designing programs that helped students navigate life beyond the classroom. He went on to lead growth for early-stage companies in education, venture, and B2B services. Now at Swell, Ben is focused on designing systems that make wellness solutions easier to find, faster to start, and more approachable for people used to toughing it out. He’s passionate about reaching high-capacity individuals who often don’t see their own breaking point coming.

Rachel Edenfield
Board Chairperson

Brian Rothenberg
Board Member

Rachel’s life’s mission is to leave the world and the people in it better than she found them. Coming from a military family herself, she started Swell with a focus on redesigning mental healthcare for service members - the most at-risk, self-reliant population in the US, the least likely to ask for help, and the ones who need it most.

Brian serves on Swell’s board as a partner at the venture capital firm Defy, one of Swell’s early investors. Along with a passion for improving mental health, Brian brings valuable insight and wisdom to Swell as a former founder, operator and scaler from startup creation through IPO.

As a veteran, a CEO of his own company, and board member to multiple others, Garrett loves being part of dynamic teams solving tough problems together. Garrett was the first believer & champion of Rachel & Swell’s innovative solutions for the unique mental health challenges the military community faces.
