TL;DR:

Swell is hiring a college creator who already makes videos people actually want to watch. Your job: make UGC content for Swell, recruit and direct other student creators to make more of it, and help run our social pipeline.

About Swell

Swell is an algorithmic coaching platform that helps people better understand themselves, navigate the relationships that matter most, and close the gap between what they want to do and what they actually do. Unlike traditional personality assessments that place people into a handful of categories, Swell maps users across 63 traits and nine dimensions to create a more nuanced understanding of who they are. That understanding powers the entire experience- from personalized coaching and daily insights to relationship compatibility tools, communication guidance, and goal support. Our mission is to make self-awareness practical, actionable, and personal, helping people create meaningful change in their everyday lives.

The Role

This is not a coffee-fetching internship. There's no big content team you'll be slotted into: everything that goes out, you'll make or source yourself. You'll be a creator, a talent scout, and a one-person production crew, testing what lands and doubling down on what works. You'll learn by shipping (not by sitting in on meetings).

What You'll Do

  • Use Swell and become the in-house expert on the end-to-end customer experience.
  • Make UGC-style videos for Swell that feel like a real person talking about a product they use, not an ad.
  • Find and recruit other college creators to make videos for us.
  • Run with our social content pipeline ideas, scripts, edits, and trends (contributing ideas as you go.
  • Track what works. You'll see real performance data on your content and use it to decide what to make next.
  • Work in-person 1 day/week, and fit the rest of the time around your schedule.

About You

  • You already make videos: doesn't matter if it's TikTok, your own channel, or a camera roll full of edits.
  • You have taste, and opinions about what's good.
  • You're social enough with your peers that you can easily find other local creators who can work on spec.
  • You don't wait to be told what to make. You get an idea and you try it.
  • You're reliable. 15 hours/week, we count on you showing up.

Bonus points if you

  • Have grown your own following, however small.
  • Know your way around editing tools and trends before they peak.
  • Care about psychology, people, and why we all do what we do.

Compensation & Incentives

  • $17/hour, ~15 hours a week.
  • Portfolio pieces: videos that went live and reached real audiences, with numbers attached. Not class projects.
  • Direct access to the whole founding team.
  • A front-row seat to startup growth: how creator sourcing, distribution, and conversion work when there's very little budget to hide behind.

Our Culture

Swell is a small team with a high level of ownership. We trust people to manage their work, take initiative, and follow through. We value reliability, creativity, and a willingness to solve problems as they arise. Strong communication, accountability, and a collaborative mindset are the foundation of how we work.

There's no pre-designated leader, no designated mentors, and you can't hire experts. Just you and your team of you's, an unlimited materials budget, and the rocket has to launch one year from now.
